Have I Been Really In Love?
It's the question that I asked myself during a conversation over dinner with bestie and her fiance. We just came from her gown designer and decided to stop by for dinner at Aristocrat in Jupiter, Makati. With the rain pouring on the streets, we took time to catch up with the current events. So we ended up talking about the Twilight Series and I mused about how cheesy the stories were and I couldn't believe that the young people like it very much. I mean, who would be willing to die or give up something for someone you love? The couple looked at me and gave a sounding yes! And I stared at them for a while and shook my head. I told them, I can't believe that they are willing to do that. I mean, I think I have fallen for a guy in some point in my life but I am not yet willing to give up myself or anything for that man. And then I asked, so does that mean, I haven't been really in love yet? It was really frustrating! Here I am, close to 30s, willing and ready for a steady commitment and it was sad to think that I still haven't had that warm feeling of loving a man, and yeah, sadly, being loved in return. Then and there, at the corner table of that restaurant, I felt alone. I think that I have so much to give and now, I don't know how, I don't know to whom. It is very frustrating. ;(

Sad
Last night, I was in Seattle's Best Coffee in MoA with my friend Tesh. I was going through some emotional state lately and in a spur-of-a-moment thing, I told her, my life is like a lone person in a cafe: Watching people pass by and the world go by and waiting for a guy to come up to me but at the end of the day, none really came.
Sad. That's just how I feel right now...

The Dilemma of Writing a Love Story...
... is when a person have not experienced it yet. Or should that be a requirement? I kept asking myself that. I love writing. I have so many romantic notions in mind that I put into writing. I can say that I'm a hopeless romantic and I love the idea of love. I cry at weddings, too. But is it needed to be experienced it just to effective in writing a beautiful love story that will be appreciated by my readers? Maybe, maybe not. There are times that I receive feedbacks from my readers who tell me how much they loved the stories that I have written. It was always a wonder to me. I haven't fallen in love yet, in the kind that I wrote in my stories, and then there are people who appreciate what I wrote. I still believe that having experienced it firsthand will make me more effective in putting down the words of love between two people.
But the problem is, I haven't had that feeling yet ...

The Story of Captain America
I watched the new movie Captain America: The First Avenger twice in cinemas last weekend and I still can't get enough of it. No, it's not about the captain's abs and manboobs (that probably got most of the female population drooling) although I must say that he's quite a looker. The movie is entertaining and engaging and interesting. It makes me love the guy more, because he's a good man, in and out. It is also a sad movie, at least for me. I am not going to tell about what the story is all about because it's either you have already seen it or you haven't yet and I don't want to give a spoiler. After the movie, Marvel Studios gave a treat to the moviegoers about the forthcoming movie, The Avengers, which is due to be shown on May 2012. I am looking forward to watching this as the stars of various Marvel movie franchise will converge in one supermovie and I hope that it will not disappoint the fans.

Substitute Bride (excerpt)
Ethan quickly rushed towards his office. His army of staff followed behind. When he reached the grand room that housed his place of work, including an elaborate piece of art from a friend, he saw Lady Xenia. His heart beats fast. She is always a goddess of beauty, an epitome of simplicity and serenity. But he also knows that beneath that is also a feisty woman who never failed to give him amusement. He almost smirked at the thought of his encounters with Victoria's elder sister. Ethan glanced at his staff. "Leave us."
They curtsied to both nobles inside the room and quietly went out. At last, they are alone. He looked back at Xenia. She is wearing her hair down and she is dressed in a fitting royal blue dress. It doesn't suit her, he thought. He thinks that she will look perfectly better in a sundress with her long brown hair cascading beautifully down her back. She will look more relaxed, less intimidating. But there are dress codes when facing royalty.
"What brings you here, Lady Xenia?" He politely asks.
"I came here to bring you a message, Your Royal Highness."

Got Promoted.
I just want to share that I'm happy that I got promoted in my job and I look forward to working with my colleagues, packed with more challenges. Although I was hoping for a higher raise, I think that this is enough for now. As I've said four years back when I went back to this job, I am going to do my best because this is what I love to do. I am not going to waste another few years of my life looking for a better one when this one is enough for me. I learned from my experiences ;)

Isang Malaking Production Number

Kristin (excerpt)
Kevin woke up from the sound of ringing of his phone. Still eyes closed, he reached out for his wife beside him. When he didn't feel her, he opened his eyes. Kristin is not in the bedroom. He sat up. He saw a note on the bedside table.
I'm preparing breakfast. Don't ask me how. It's a surprise. I love you. Kris
Setting it aside, he gets out of the bed and went to the living room area. The phone rang continuously. He answered it as he walked towards the balcony. "How is it?"
"Hugh will try to do everything to make your marriage void." His lawyer, Atty. Tanner McAvoy, replied on the other line.
"It will never happen. Even more, when the marriage has been consummated already." Kevin laughed. "What else did you tell him?"
"It will be easy for us to gain control on Kristin's financial obligations. He is going to have a problem with that since despite his rocky relationship with his daughter, he was still able to receive a part of the profits earned by the duchy. I told him the situation."
"Good. Make sure you'll have him in jail."
"Weird. Most clients with certain vendetta would want the other dead."
"I'm different. I want him to suffer." Kevin replied.
"After this, what will happen to your marriage? You made sure that no one would intercept. You will stay married to the daughter of your father's killer?" Tanner asks him.
"I can handle Kristin. I will take advantage of her obsession plus the benefits of being married to her. It's nothing personal. I only want revenge for her father."
"What if she finds out and insists that you divorce?"
"I don't care. If she did, she will lose. We didn't sign a prenup. She's richer than me so basically, I will have a part of what she have. I'm sure she, or even her relatives, would not want that." Kevin chuckled. "That's very brilliant, don't you think, Tanner?"
"I guess so. I'm just warning you. Don't fall for her. It would only be hard to let go."
"Tell me, why do you think I would fall for someone like her? She caused Sandra's death. She died of jealousy because Kristin would follow me everywhere even though I already told her that I don't like her, and I don't want her following me around."
"Because I know that deep within that angry heart of yours is a good person, Kevin. You don't want this to happen," Tanner said.
Kevin's jaw clenched. No, he didn't want others to tell him that, especially when it seemed to be half of the truth. "I have to go. Call me when he's in jail." He ended the call. When he turned, he saw Kristin standing by the door. "How long have you been there?"
