The Conversation

I just had a random thought about this ... what if I get the chance to tell him what I feel?
SETTING: BFF's wedding reception. 2012. (People are already going home)

Me: (approaching guy who would be obviously with his cousins. He also happens to be my partner at the wedding entourage) Excuse me, May I speak with you for a moment?
Si Crush (SC): Oh, yes. Sure. (walked with me towards a corner) What about?
Me: Well, you see, I'm about to leave. But I won't let this night end without telling you how I feel. I like you, since last year when we first met. You told me that I was pre-empting (the couple's) decision to take you as one of the abays. Actually, I'm not. I just don't know why I did that. Maybe, a conversation-starter *shrugs* But it was your aunt who gave me the clearer picture.
SC: Tita R?
Me: Yes. She told me that I like you. And we look good together.
-- silence --
Me: I actually agreed with her. I like you and I want to know you more. So... (steps closely to him) I'm going to be preemptive again. And after this night, you are going to think about what I said. One of these days, you are going to contact (the newlyweds) and ask for my number. You are going to ask me out and we will go on a food trip. I heard you love to eat and so am I.
SC: Why don't you give your number to me now?
Me: You're not asking for it.
SC: You could have given me instead.
Me: I'd rather let you do the job of asking. I've opened up myself enough. I won't do anything more than let you know what I feel. The ball's in your court. If you don't like me, or don't want to have anything to do with me, fine. I'm happy enough that you know that I like you. *touches his cheeks and pinched it lightly* So, see you soon? (and then I walk away)
